St. Patrick’s Day is next week and since I’m all about finding any excuse to buy pretty dresses and take pictures of my girls…we did some fun St. Patrick’s Day inspired minty minty green photos.
I was inspired by this tutorial for crayon hearts, so we set out to do a photo backdrop made of crayon hearts. Here’s how…
How to Male a Melted Crayon Heart
Step One:
Choose the crayons you would like to use. I recommend using a few different shades so that you have a variety of colors in your backdrop. You can use new crayons or old crayons…as long as they are wax:)
Step Two:
Using a handheld pencil sharpener, shave the crayons and spread over a piece of wax paper. Lay another sheet of wax paper over the top and using an iron, press on the wax paper for a few seconds and then repeat all over the paper until the wax is melted as thinly as you like.
Step Three:
Trace the shapes onto the wax paper that you would like to use. I made hearts, but you can do any shape you like. You can vary the sizes as well. Cut out the shapes and hole punch towards the top. Tie string or twine onto the shape and hang. Easy Peasy.
Here are the pictures we took…
I love my girls. They had so fun fun taking these pictures and were super excited to say “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” to everybody. Looking for FREE St. Patrick’s Day printables?
