Throwing a MONKEY PARTY?
☑️ This Monkey Party Set is the perfect set to get your party planning headed in the right direction!

What I love most about a monkey party is how flexible it is. You can keep things simple and sweet with banana treats and leafy greens, or you can go big with full vine backdrops, giant palm leaves, themed printables, and jungle animal companions. Little guests love the invitation to jump, climb, and play, and parents love a theme that feels whimsical and picture perfect without requiring tons of over the top crafting. It is the ideal balance of fun and fuss free.

Using themed decorations, matching tableware, colorful desserts, and personalized printables from the Mimi’s Dollhouse shop makes it easy to style your monkey party with professional looking results. Coordinated colors, cute characters, and thoughtful signage help bring the whole look together while keeping the planning process stress free.

If your birthday child loves climbing, exploring, giggling, or simply acting a little wild, a monkey birthday party is the perfect way to celebrate their playful personality. With bright tropical colors, sweet themed treats, and clever little details, this adorable theme gives you everything you need to create a fun filled celebration guests will remember long after the party ends.

Monkey Party: Curious Emma is Turning Three!-Mimi's Dollhouse

Monkey Do, Monkey See, Curious Emma is turning THREE!  I can’t believe my little monkey is three.  Three seems so big!!!  Emma is OBSESSED with monkeys.  Literally in her room right now are about 12 stuffed monkeys of various sizes and colors.  She loves them all.  She also super into Curious George (which coincidentally is perfect for her little personality! Especially the line that says “He was a good little monkey, but oh so curious…”  Yep, that’s my Emma!!)

I really wanted her party to have a vintage soda shop feel with the soft pastel colors and the stripes and the vintage fonts.  Then of course….a cute girly little monkey. It was one of my favorite parties.  And yes, I realize I pretty much say this about all of them!! Check it out…

Monkey Party Decorations

Monkey party decorations are all about creating a playful, jungle inspired atmosphere that feels fun the moment guests walk in. Bright greens, banana yellows, and pops of tropical color make the perfect base palette. One of the easiest ways to decorate is with vines and leaves. You can use paper leaves, plastic tropical foliage, or even crepe paper streamers twisted to look like jungle vines. Layer them across a backdrop, drape them along tables, or hang them from the ceiling to create a wild, immersive environment.

Table17

Balloon garlands are another amazing decoration for a monkey themed party. Choose shades of green, yellow, brown, and even a touch of orange to mimic a bright rainforest canopy. Add in banana shaped balloons or monkey face balloons for extra charm. A balloon backdrop behind your dessert table or photo spot instantly becomes a centerpiece that guests will love.

Do not forget monkey themed printables. A customized banner with the birthday child’s name, food labels, signs, and cupcake toppers help tie everything together. Jungle animal companions like tigers, parrots, or elephants are also fun additions if you want to expand the theme. Plush monkeys hanging from vines, stuffed animals peeking out from greenery, or cut out characters layered into your garland all add so much personality.

Finally, create a simple but adorable photo area with a vine backdrop and a few monkey props. Kids will love pretending to hang, swing, and be silly for pictures. Decorations are truly what bring a monkey party to life, and even a few thoughtful pieces go a long way toward creating an unforgettable celebration.

For the printables, I created a cute monkey character who of course had to have a cute bow.  I made a fun and easy ruffled table skirt to match and painted blue and white stripes on the backdrop.  I had several stuffed monkey dolls to accompany the decor and fabric banners and backdrops.  My daughter was obsessed with Curious George.  I found some vintage style dolls and added pink bows to their heads to match the party.  They were her favorite part.

Welcome wreathes are so much fun for parties.  It’s a great way to invite your guests in and really set the tone for all the fun decor you have waiting inside.  This simple wreath was made by wrapping yarn around a foam wreath.  A full tutorial is available here.

Aren’t these such fun colors.  The cookies were adorable…they were so cute and matched the printables perfectly!!

Monkey Party Desserts

Monkey party desserts are some of the cutest and easiest themed treats you can make. Because bananas and tropical flavors naturally fit the theme, you can create delicious desserts that feel on brand without complicated baking. Banana pudding cups, chocolate dipped bananas, and banana cookies are perfect kid friendly treats. Add a little candy drizzle or themed sprinkle mix and they instantly look party ready.

Cupcakes are always a hit, and they are easy to customize with adorable monkey toppers, tiny banana decorations, or palm leaf wrappers. Choose frosting colors that match your palette — think bright greens, tropical turquoise, sunny yellow, or classic chocolate brown. A dessert table full of coordinating cupcakes feels cheerful and ties beautifully into your monkey themed design.

Oreos

Another fun dessert idea is monkey face cookies. Simple sugar cookies topped with chocolate frosting, candy eyes, and round vanilla wafers for ears become instant crowd pleasers. You can also make “banana split” inspired parfaits layered with pudding, crushed cookies, whipped cream, and fruit.

Do not be afraid to mix in store bought treats. Mini donuts become “jungle vines,” Rice Krispie treats can be cut into banana shapes, and basic chocolate cookies can be labeled as Jungle Cookies or Monkey Bites. Creative labels do so much work for you, making simple treats feel thematic.

If you want a bigger statement piece, consider a monkey shaped cake or a jungle tree stump cake topped with fondant leaves and bananas. You can also create a colorful tropical cake with piped vines and a smiling monkey topper. Monkey party desserts are playful, approachable, and guaranteed to make your dessert table shine.

For the monkey treats, we had Chocolate peanut butter and chocolate butter cream cupcakes from the Cupcakery with adorable banana and monkey fondant by the super talented Brittany from Edible Details, yummy chocolate monkey and banana cakepops by Nikki’s Cakepops; sugar cookies; amazing fudge (banana creme pie, Elvis, and peanut butter chocolate) by Jewel of the Lion, chocolate covered oreos by Sweeties by Kim, and a gorgeous chocolate cake with ruffled butter cream frosting with the cutest Fondant Monkey Letters by Edible Details.  Since my little monkey loves hot dogs, we also had a hot dog bar with tons of toppings and famous hot dog recipes.

The banana cookies were also so much fun. Here is one of my favorite pictures of the party…proof that my girls totally love one another!!!

Monkey Party Food

Monkey party food can be simple, playful, and kid approved without requiring a ton of prep. Because the theme leans tropical, you can build your menu around fresh fruit, light snacks, and fun finger foods. A fruit tray shaped like a monkey face is a guaranteed hit. Use bananas, grapes, blueberries, and melon pieces to build a cute edible centerpiece that doubles as decor.

MonkeyCookies5

For savory options, think picnic style. Mini sandwiches, veggie cups, cheese cubes, pretzels, and crackers are easy to serve and popular with little guests. You can also add “Safari Snack Mix,” which is just a tasty blend of pretzels, chocolate candies, nuts, and popcorn. Give it a themed label and it becomes an instant favorite.

Cake1

Banana themed snacks are especially fun for this party. Try banana muffins, banana bread bites, or banana chips with a sweet yogurt dip. Trail mix bars or make your own parfait stations are interactive additions that kids enjoy. They get to layer their own fruits, cereals, and yogurts while staying immersed in the jungle vibe.

For warm food, chicken nuggets, meatballs, or sliders fit perfectly into the kid friendly theme. Add themed labels like Monkey Munchies, Jungle Bites, or Banana Belly Fillers for cute presentation. You can serve everything on tropical leaf platters or wooden boards to give your table a natural jungle feel.

Cake2

The cake was a two tier ruffle cake that we added the fondant letters to after the cake was frosted.  These fondant letters were so stinking adorable.  I love the monkeys climbing all over them!!!

Monkey party food does not need to be fancy. It simply needs to be fun, fresh, and easy to enjoy while kids run around and play. With colorful fruit, simple snacks, clever labels, and themed serving pieces, you can build a menu that is both adorable and delicious.

Monkey Party Favors

Monkey party favors are one of the best ways to send guests home with a smile. Kids love leaving a celebration with a little treat, and a monkey themed party gives you so many adorable and easy options. Start with simple favor bags in bright greens or yellows, and add a cute printable tag featuring a monkey swinging from a vine with a message like “Thanks for Going Bananas With Us.”

Inside your bags, include small jungle toys, mini binoculars, banana shaped candies, stickers, temporary tattoos, or rubber monkey figurines. These items are inexpensive and on theme, making them perfect for a playful send off. Bubbles are another great addition. You can wrap bubble tubes in leaf patterned paper or tiny printable labels to tie them into your overall design.

If you want something craftier, consider making DIY monkey masks. Kids can wear them during the party and then take them home afterward. Another idea is to include small coloring books or printable activity sheets featuring jungle animals, vines, and bananas. These are entertaining, lightweight, and easy to customize.

MonkeyCupcakes2

Edible favors are also popular. Banana candies, chocolate covered pretzels, jungle trail mix, or small bags of “Monkey Chow” (a simple mix of cereal, chocolate candies, and marshmallows) make for tasty treats that are easy to assemble. Package them in clear bags with themed toppers for an adorable presentation.

Monkey party favors should feel fun, simple, and delightful. Whether you choose a few small toys, cute treats, or a DIY craft, the goal is to send each child home with a reminder of the playful jungle adventure they experienced at your celebration.

Monkey Party Tableware

The easiest way to serve all the glorious party treats you make and buy is with some themed party ware. This is budget friendly and keeps the design flowing through every part of your party. Definitely a must buy. When you are styling a celebration like a monkey party, coordinated tableware instantly ties every detail together. Plates, napkins, cups, and serving pieces are some of the most noticeable elements on your table, and choosing items that match your color palette or feature cute themed graphics creates a seamless visual experience for guests.

Themed party ware also takes pressure off of having to decorate every inch of your space. Even the simplest table will look thoughtfully styled when the plates and napkins match the vibe of your decorations. For a monkey party, choosing pieces in bright greens, sunny yellows, and fun tropical prints helps every part of the celebration feel cohesive. Add in some jungle leaves, wooden serving boards, or banana shaped accessories and you have an adorable table that looks intentional without overcomplicating the setup.
