I am super duper ready for fall!!! Definitely ready for cooler weather, pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks and pumpkin bread. Recently I was asked to put together some cowboy party ideas by an awesome client of mine and I started thinking about how perfect a cowboy/cowgirl party is for fall.
Suddenly, I wish I had a fall birthday so I could throw myself a cowboy party (ok maybe not for ME, but for one of my kids). There are so many fun things you can do with a western theme for a party.
Cowboy parties are awesome fun. With easy to use cowboy printable decorations (or also these adorable wild west printable decorations), its just waaaaay to easy to put together an awesome-sauce western-themed party!!!
Setting up a cowboy party can be super fun, too. The decorations basically take care of themselves. I’ve compiled some easy to DIY and also freaking amazing western-themed party ideas…check it out!!
Cardboard Box Western Town on Project Nursery
Want an easy activity that is guaranteed to thrill your little party goers? Then you must build a western town from cardboard boxes. First of all…it’s adorable. Secondly, what western-themed party is complete without a shootout in front of the saloon followed by a trip to jail? And most importantly, its really a fairly inexpensive and easy thing to create. The complexity of the town can vary based on your time and crafting level and all you really NEED to pull it off are some scissors and a Sharpie. You can go super awesome, like the below and paint or paper the boxes to look like buildings…but I promise your little ones will still have as much fun if all you do is cut doors and windows and write “Saloon” and “Jail” on the top!
Wagon Table on Kara’s Party Ideas
Want a great way to dress up a simple folding table western style? Fasten a couple wagon wheels to the legs, add a stained 2×4 and fashion a sheet into a wagon cover! Instant amazing table display!!! It’s super adorable, right!!
Farm Animal Letters from Perfectly Boutique
These are precious! I love using fun letters on dessert tables. It’s such a great way to personalize a display. These farm animal themed letters would be adorable for a farm party or a cowboy party!! I think the barn is my favorite!!!
DIY Bandana Banner from Landeelu
This is a very simply and super cute DIY banner. Additionally, this would be a great way to accent tables or to hange around an awning…so cute. I also love that it is so easily customizable. No matter what color scheme you are shooting for, you can use those colored bandanas to create this bunting!
Horse Lasso Activity from Mimi’s Dollhouse
Looking for a fun activity that is sure to bring some laughs? What could possibly be more entertaining than watching party guests attempt to lasso a horse? This would be a great cowboy party activity and you know lasso lessons are sure to create some funny situations! This would be a great way to entertain those little buckaroos (and maybe the grown-ups too!)
Cowboy Dress Up Stations on Catch My Party
Dress your party guests in style with a simple cowboy party dress up station. I love how this is set up on a old beat-up ladder. It’s so rustic and adorable. All you need are some hats and bandanas and your little cowboy party kiddos will be rocking the western look in no time!
Watering Hole Stand from Nothing but Country
Wet yer whistle with some water or lemonade at the good o’le watering hole. This adorable watering hole is set-up on a lemonade stand (this is a great way to re-use party crafts!!) I love the cute rustic feel of this and how simple it is to place a chalkboard a top and be ready for your party. Also, if having a reusable lemonade stand/watering hole sounds like a winner to you, but you aren’t inclined to DIY…this lemonade stand on Amazon is perfection!
Wanted Poster Photo Prop from Mimi’s Dollhouse
Let’s get into the cowboy party mood with some impromptu photo booth photos!!! This simple wanted sign cut out is made from ply wood and black vinyl letters…so easy and an awesome way to get great pictures of all your party guests!!
So many fun cowboy party ideas…I don’t think I could even pick a favorite! This is such a great party theme for summer or fall and works so nicely in a backyard or park. I love parties that can be held outside.
