I love fall. Especially the pumpkins. This weekend, we were at Home Depot getting supplies for one of my upcoming fall craft projects and they had a huge selection of pumpkins and gourds out front.

My love of pumpkins inspired me to make cute and easy pumpkin treat tutorial. These fun little DIY pumpkin Oreos and pumpkin cupcakes were as fun to make as they were to eat!!!!

DIY Pumpkin Oreos + Jack-O-lantern Oreos

The Pumpkin Oreos can be made for fall parties or Thanksgiving or a cute little Jack-o-lantern face can be added to jazz them up for Halloween.

Materials

Oreo Mold (or Oreo Pop Mold)

Black Edible Marker (for Jack-o-lantern)

Tootsie Rolls

Green Fondant

Oreos

Orange Candy Melts

Black Cookie Icing (for Jack-o-lantern)

Fondant Shape Cutters

Step 1:

Melt Orange Candy melts in the microwave. Using a glass bowl works the best melting in 30-second increments so you don’t accidentally overheat (which can make the melted candy harder to use). Once the candy is melted, fill the Oreo mold with candy (3/4 full). To make these into Oreo pops…use the Oreo pop mold and insert a stick or paper straw into the mold. Press an Oreo into the candy and fill the top until the Oreo is covered. Move to the fridge to cool for 15-20 minutes.

Step 2:

Roll out the green fondant until it’s about 1/4 inch thick. Punch out heart shaped pieces of fondant. Pinch the top of the heart together to make it look like a little leaf. Using mini tootsie rolls, cut them in fourths and pinch the tootsie roll to make it round again for the stem. using a little left over orange candy as glue, place the tootsie roll stem on top and add the leaves.

Step 3:

If you are leaving the pumpkin treats as pumpkins without a face, dip a spoon into the candy melts and let them drizzle onto the Oreo for texture. If you are making jack-o-lantern faces, use the edible marker to outline the shape of the fave. Fill in the shapes with the cookie icing. For sharp corners, like the eyes, I put a dot of icing in the middle and moved it into the corners of the shape with the prong of a fork (or toothpick).

Step 4:

Allow the Oreos to cool and the icing to set (at least 30 mins) and they are ready to enjoy!
