When it comes to Halloween, I am NOT a creepy-crawly-scary fan. I shy away from the grotesque and bloody…just not for me. What I do LOVE, LOVE, LOVE is cute and silly Halloween. I guess it’s a good thing since I mostly throw kids parties!
This year, I set out to make some new and super easy to DIY cutesy Halloween treats. So today I’m sharing my super adorable little mummy treats!! Mummy cupcakes, mummy cookies, and mummy Oreo pops, galore!
Mummy Cookies Tutorial
Want some fun mummy sugar cookies? These are sure to be a crowd pleaser this Halloween…
Materials
- White Frosting
- Sugar cookie recipe or mix
- Candy eyes
- White Fondant
- Circle Cookie Cutters
Step 1:
Prepare Sugar Cookie dough according to recipe or sugar cookie mix instructions. Roll dough until it is 1/4 inch thick. Using the circle cookie cutters, cut out the cookies. I used three different sizes of circles to give some variety to the mummy cookies. Place the cookies on a lined cookie sheet and bake according to the recipe. Remove from oven and allow to cool before decorating.
Step 2:
Roll white fondant out until about 1/4 inch thick. Using a knife, cut fondant into strips about 1/8 inch thick. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes so the fondant is slightly stiff, but still a little sticky.
Step 3:
Spread a thin layer of white frosting on the cookies. Place two candy eyes in the frosting. I used the small eyes for smaller cookies and the larger candy eyes for bigger cookies. Take the white fondant strips and place them over the cookies in various directions. Trim excess fondant and tuck the ends under the cookie. Easy Peasy!!!

Mummy Oreo Pops Tutorial
Want to give your Oreos a little pop? Here are some cute mummy Oreo pops!
Materials
Step 1:
Melt white candy melts. I recommend using a glass bowl and microwaving in 30-second increments until melted. Fill the Oreo molds with candy to about 3/4 full. Open the Oreos and press the top of the paper straw into the Oreo and carefully close the Oreo.
Place the Oreo into the mold and cover the rest of the cookie with melted candy. I recommend cutting the straws in half for this. You can also use lollipop sticks if you prefer. Place the mold in the fridge for 15-20 mins to allow the candy to harden.
Step 2:
Roll white fondant out until about 1/4 inch thick. Using a knife, cut fondant into strips about 1/8 inch thick. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes so the fondant is slightly stiff, but still a little sticky.
Step 3:
Remove the Oreo pops from the mold. Using some of the leftover white melted candy as glue, place two eye candies on the Oreo pops. Take the white fondant strips and place them over the Oreos in various directions.
Trim excess fondant and tuck the fondant ends around the back of the Oreo. They are ready to eat!!!
