This is Halloween, This is Halloween…
One of my favorite holiday rides at Disneyland is when they turn the Haunted Mansion into a Nightmare Before Christmas Spook-tackle! It’s glorious!!!
I love Nightmare Before Christmas! It’s fun and clever and the characters are memorable. None more so that good ole Jack Skellington…the Pumpkin King. His long skeleton physique and unique head are perfect.
When I started thinking about Halloween treats…I knew I needed to make some Jack Skellington Oreo Pops! This tutorial is super easy and inexpensive for amazing Halloween (or even Christmas is you wanna be crazy!) treat…check it out!
Jack Skellington Oreo Pops Tutorial
Materials
- Oreo Mold (or Oreo Pop Mold)
- Black Edible Marker
- Oreos
- Black Cookie Icing
- Black and White Paper Straws (for oreo pops)
- White Candy Melts
STEP 1:
Melt White Candy melts in the microwave. Using a glass bowl works the best melting in 30-second increments so you don’t accidentally overheat (which can make the melted candy harder to use).
Once the candy is melted, fill the oreo mold with candy (3/4 full). If you want to make these into Oreo pops…use the Oreo pop mold and insert a stick or paper straw into the mold.
Press an Oreo into the candy and fill the top until the oreo is covered. Move to the fridge to cool for 15-20 minutes.
STEP 2:
Remove the Oreo pops from the mold. Using the Black Icing, carefully draw and fill two large round circles for the eyes. Return to fridge to cool until eyes are no longer “wet”.
Using the edible marker, draw two small nostril lines and a large curved smile. Add stitch marks to the mouth and your Oreos are ready to party!!
