How to throw a Captain Marvel Viewing Party in 4 easy steps.
If you’re planning a superhero celebration with a strong, fearless, and completely iconic vibe—look no further than a Captain Marvel–themed party. Captain Marvel is bold, brave, and inspiring, making her the perfect superhero centerpiece for kiddos (and grown-ups!) who love powerful female characters. With her striking red, blue, and gold color palette and her energetic, cosmic storyline, there’s SO much creative potential when it comes to styling a Captain Marvel birthday.

Whether your little hero loves the Avengers, adores Carol Danvers, or simply wants a hero who matches her own unstoppable personality, this theme brings all the girl-power energy into one vibrant celebration.
What I love most about Captain Marvel parties is how easily they blend superhero elements with bright, modern décor. You can incorporate metallic starbursts, comic-book accents, cosmic touches, bold balloon garlands, and even flight-themed or galaxy-inspired details. Everything about this theme screams STRONG and FUN, which makes it a dream to style. Add in a dessert table layered with color, themed treats, and Captain Marvel logos, and you’ve got a party spread bursting with confidence and excitement.
This theme also lends itself beautifully to DIY-loving parents. Captain Marvel symbols are easy to replicate with cardstock or vinyl, and you can create budget-friendly decorations that still look professionally styled. Think star garlands, custom banners, themed toppers, and even space-inspired accents made from simple crafting supplies. Whether you want to lean into comic-book graphics or embrace a more sleek and modern superhero look, Captain Marvel gives you endless styling options.
And let’s not forget how much fun kids have with this theme. There’s something so empowering about stepping into a world built around bravery, leadership, and cosmic heroism. From dress-up accessories to themed games to action-packed photo ops, Captain Marvel parties spark imagination in such a beautiful way.

Around here, we really don’t need much of an excuse for a good party. If you are like us, and baking some treats and piling your daughter and her closest friends into your living room for a night of watching MARVEL-ous superhero action sounds like your kind of Saturday…
…here are some quick and easy ideas for a Captain Marvel party to get your creative super powers flowing. Also…I have included a super easy tutorial for making some delicious Captain Marvel Rice Krispies Pops…because, yum!
Firstly, let’s discuss the awesomeness of this movie:
Captain Marvel Review
I’m a huge Marvel fan. We always make a point to see each Marvel film on opening day in the theatre. I love seeing which elements the writers choose to pull from the comics and get super excited over the introduction of new characters.
Captain Marvel was definitely a comic favorite of mine that I was “patiently” waiting to make her big screen debut. Guys…she did not disappoint! The movie was fantastic and her character was even better than I hoped for.
It’s hard for me to love any female superhero as much as I love Black Widow…and this movie totally made me fall for Captain Marvel!!!
Here is some info on the movie:
Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that introduces it’s first stand-alone, female-franchise title character—Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel.
We get to watch Danvers seek to learn about her past while working alongside a pre-SHIELD Nick Fury. The little nuggets of backstory interwoven throughout are perfection!
I loved Brie Larson in the role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel and Jude Law was so good as Yon-Rogg.
I definitely recommend this film to anyone who loves superheroes! My daughter’s will for sure be BEGGING for a Captain Marvel party this year!!
Step 1: Where to find Captain Marvel on Blu-Ray
Captain Marvel can be picked up on Amazon starting June 11th. I highly recommend purchasing either the Blu-ray or 4K version. Not only does it come with the digital download so you can stream it on your devices, but you get all the fun extras!
I LOVE the bonus features on films like Captain Marvel. Maybe I’m a movie nerd…but all the behind the scenes footage and discussions about product really is my favorite part of owning a movie!
Alright…so now that I’ve done my best to let you know why I think you owe it to yourself to see this film…let’s talk Captain Marvel party ideas…
Step 2: How to Decorate for a Captain Marvel Party
Decorating for a Captain Marvel party is incredibly fun because the color palette alone does half the work for you. The bold red, blue, and gold combo creates a vibrant backdrop that’s instantly recognizable and full of superhero energy. You can lean into the classic Captain Marvel emblem—her gold starburst—as the primary design element and incorporate it across banners, balloons, table décor, and dessert toppers. Add navy or royal blue backdrops, metallic gold accents, and bright pops of red, and suddenly your whole party space feels powerful and cohesive.
For a playful, comic-inspired vibe, mix in speech bubbles, bold lightning shapes, graphic bursts, and fun typography. If you prefer a more modern hero look, opt for sleek lines, galaxy touches, and metallic décor. DIY cityscapes, star garlands, cosmic balloons, and themed signage bring everything together beautifully. Whether you style indoors or outdoors, Captain Marvel décor creates a celebration that feels dynamic, brave, and totally inspiring for your little hero.
Decorating for a Captain Marvel party can be as easy as red, blue and yellow. You can start with some simple solid colored partyware and decorations. This would be a great basic for a Captain Marvel party theme.
Also, a quick walk down any patriotic party aisle will give you plenty of patriotic decorating options. This is definitely a perk of planning a Captain Marvel party between Memorial Day and 4th of July!!
Captain Marvel Party Supplies
f you’re serving snacks, desserts, or party trays at your Captain Marvel celebration, one of the BEST ways to keep everything looking polished and pulled together is by using themed party ware. This is honestly one of my favorite styling secrets because it instantly upgrades the look of your party with almost zero effort. Whether your food is homemade, store-bought, or a mix of both, placing it on coordinating plates, napkins, cups, and trays makes everything look intentional and cohesive.
Themed party ware also makes your design flow beautifully from one area of the party to the next. When your dessert table matches your snack station and your drink area ties in with your main setup, the whole celebration feels visually seamless. Kids get extra excited when they see superhero plates and bright themed napkins—it makes the food more fun and adds to the overall party experience.
Avengers Partyware from Oriental Trading
And here’s the BEST part: themed party ware is incredibly budget friendly. Instead of buying a ton of extra décor pieces, your tableware does double-duty as both decoration AND functionality. It fills your space with color and theme without requiring any extra crafting or styling time. If you want to elevate your Captain Marvel party instantly, themed party ware is an easy, affordable, must-buy addition that keeps your whole celebration flowing beautifully.
You can also find some super cute Captain Marvel themed decorations for fairly inexpensive from Amazon. Personally, I would use mostly the solid colored decor (focusing on items like tissue poms and tablecloths) and sprinkle in these cute themed balloons and tableware items for a balance between the two.
Step 3: Captain Marvel Party Food
So, now you know where to find the Captain Marvel movie and a solid plan for decorating. Let’s discuss the party food! (Confession: this is ALWAYS my favorite part!!)
Captain Marvel party food is a blast to create because you can add superhero flair to practically anything. That bold red, blue, and gold palette pops SO beautifully on desserts, snacks, and food displays. Think bright candy melts drizzled over Rice Krispy treats, galaxy-inspired cupcakes, star-topped cookies, or fruit trays arranged into Captain Marvel symbols. Even simple foods can be transformed with themed toppers, printable labels, and colorful containers.
You can name your food to match the theme: “Hero Fuel,” “Cosmic Crunch,” “Star Power Cookies,” and “Higher, Further, Faster Snacks.” Adding themed serving trays or using star-shaped cutters takes your table to the next level. Whether you prefer easy store-bought options or fun homemade treats, Captain Marvel party food adds excitement and makes your dessert table feel totally super-powered.
Themed party food
There are LOADS of ideas for Captain Marvel themed food. Some items can be colored to match the party, like mango, strawberry and blueberry fruit cups or skewers.
Another colored idea that would be great is jello cups or parfaits. You can also add some flavored drinks for color.
If you are looking for some Captain Marvel themed desserts to top off your amazing viewing event, here are a couple great ones:

DIY Captain Marvel Rice Krispies Treats
As promised, I have also whipped up a little tutorial for making Captain Marvel themed Rice Krispies treats pops.
Here are the instructions to make these fun little treats.
Ingredients:
- Rice Krispies Treats cut in half (or Rice Krispies Minis)
- Blue Candy Melts
- Red Candy Melts
- Yellow Fondant
Tools:
- Knife
- Star Cookie Cutter
- Parchment Paper
- Paper Straws
Directions:
- Melt Red Candy Melts in microwave (I recommend melting in 30 second increments a stirring in between to prevent the candy from burning)
- Dip the top half of the Rice Krispies treats into the melted candy to the halfway point. Tap against side of bowl to remove excess candy. Lay on parchment paper to harden. You can also place these in your fridge to speed up the hardening process.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the blue candy melts on the bottom half of the Rice Krispies treats.
- Roll the yellow fondant out to about ¼ inch thick. Use the small star cookie cutter to cut a star for each pop. Then cut ¼ inch strips of fondant for the stripe.
- While the blue candy melts are still cooling, lay the strips across the middle of the pops. They will hang off the edges. Place the star on the middle. Allow everything to harden.
- Cut the excess fondant from the sides of the treats and stick a yellow paper straw into the bottom of the Rice Krispies treats.
- Keep refrigerated until party time. Easy Peasy!

Step 4: What to wear to a Captain Marvel Party
One of the BEST parts of a Captain Marvel party is helping your little hero—or your guests!—look the part. There are so many cute and easy outfit options, from full Captain Marvel costumes to simple accessories that still feel totally heroic. A standalone Captain Marvel dress or suit is always a hit, especially for the birthday kiddo, but you can also style an outfit with themed colors. Think bold red leggings, a navy t-shirt, gold accessories, and a fun star headband or cape.
For guests, masks, capes, wristbands, or temporary tattoos make adorable additions. These can even be party favors or part of an activity station! You can also incorporate fun superhero props like shields, gloves, and printable emblems kids can stick onto their shirts. The idea is to make everyone feel powerful and ready for action, whether they’re in full costume or rocking a comfortable, everyday outfit with superhero flair.
Of course once your party is all set, you need something to wear! For a day time party, this Captain Marvel Girls T-shirt would be absolutely adorable. I mean you have to dress like our favorite superhero, right!
Captain Marvel Pajama Party
Another amazing way to throw a Captain Marvel themed party, would be a Captain Marvel sleepover. Can’t you just see all your little guests wearing matching Captain Marvel pajamas eating popcorn (with the extra red and blue candy melts drizzled on top, of course)???
These Captain Marvel PJs for Girls would make PERFECT party favors too…grab a pari for each girl and they can wear them for the party and then take them home! Just think of the photo ops from that one!!

Captain Marvel parties are such a joyful celebration of strength, bravery, imagination, and SO much color. What makes this theme incredibly special is how empowering it feels. Kids can step straight into a world that celebrates courage, leadership, and cosmic-level fun. Watching them run around in superhero capes, strike action poses for photos, and dive into themed games and snacks is truly magical—and creating that environment is such an honor as a parent.
The Captain Marvel theme is wonderful because it works for so many ages—from toddlers who love bright colors to big kids who know every detail of the Marvel universe. You can go playful and comic-book bright or modern and sleek with galaxy elements. The red-blue-gold palette gives you ultra-heroic styling options without requiring complicated décor or expensive pieces. Even small touches—like star-shaped toppers, bold dessert labels, or themed plates—give your party an instant superhero vibe.
As you plan your celebration, remember that the heart of a great Captain Marvel party is FUN. Your decorations don’t need to be perfect, your food doesn’t need to be elaborate, and your activities don’t need to be complicated. What matters most is creating an atmosphere that makes kids feel excited, included, and powerful. Add capes, masks, crafts, and superhero-inspired snacks, and your party will feel completely immersive without overwhelming you.
This theme also gives you room to get creative with DIY projects. Whether you make a cityscape backdrop, craft star banners, decorate Rice Krispy treats, or design your own Captain Marvel symbol cutouts, your homemade touches will stand out and make the day feel special. And if you love keeping things simple, you can easily create a stunning setup using balloon garlands, themed tableware, and bright color contrasts.
I hope these Captain Marvel party ideas inspire you to throw a celebration packed with cosmic charm, bold color, and girl-power energy. With a little creativity and a few themed touches, your party will be unforgettable—a truly SUPER moment your little hero will remember forever.
