DIY Mickey Mouse Party Hats
Supplies:
- Cardstock (White, Black, Red, Green , Orange, Blue, and Pink with White polka-dots)
- Rubber Cement/Super Glue
- Scissors
- Hole Punch
- Ribbon (Pink with white polka dots, pink, red, yellow, green, black)
Step 1. Cut out pattern pieces and trace on coordinating colored cardstock. (The pieces are labeled with the colors you need for each character.) Make sure you cut out two ears for each mickey and Minnie hat.
Step 3. Take small Hat base and glue edges together.
Step 4. Glue edges of Large hat base and glue together. Make sure its tight enough that the hole at the top of the hat is as tight as possible. You will need it to keep a ribbon knot inside the hat.
Step 5. Glue large hat base over small hat base leaving 1.5 to 2 inches of the bottom color exposed.
Step 6. For Mickey: Glue ears to front sides of hat. For Minnie: Glue ears to front side of hat and tie pink ribbon in bow and glue between ears (super glue works best). For Donald: Edge blue hat with black ribbon. Glue to front of hat at an angle.) For Goofy: Glue Goofy Hat Ribbon and Brim to Goofy hat base. Glue Goofy hat to hat at an angle.
Step 7. Punch holes in the sides of the small base. Cut ribbon into pieces long enough to reach from your head to under your chin and tie in a bow (at least 12 inches). Tie one end in a knot and lace through hole so that the knot is inside the hat. Repeat on other side.
Step 8. Tie small piece of ribbon in knot and push through the top hole of the hat.

THANK YOU FOR READING OUR Mickey Mouse Hat Idea!
HI,
This is amazing! I love the detail! I’m throwing a mickey mouse clubhouse birthday party for my son. Do you by any chance have the rest of the tutorials up or templates available for the donald hat and minnie hat. I saw the hats for Mickey and Goofy.I’m also going to do a Daisy hat. You have inspired me!
Thank you so much:) The hat template has the pieces for Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy. Daisy would be super easy, if you do the hat in white and lavender and add the bow like with Minnie.
im throwing my son his second birthday party ofcourse mickey mouse clubhouse is the theme. i was amazed by how talented you are, and i love your decorations. i was wondering by any chance do you make plutos hat too….
Thanks so much…I don’t have a template for Pluto…but if you use the hat template for the other characters and substitute yellow for the top, green for the bottom (collar) and make some black ears (Pluto’s ears kinda look like little hockey pucks)…you can achieve the same look…:)
Could you tell me if construction paper would work? Or would it be to flimsy?
I think construction paper would be too flimsy. Scrapbook paper is much sturdier and would work much better.
ok, thank you!
Unee fois dе plus unn post véritablement instructif
do you have pictures of all the hats? – mainly goofy.
and I see Donalds hat has yellow is that just ribbon?
ignore that I see that it’s just the construction paper Lol. I am so not a creative person so I am loving your step-by-step instructions. thank you for posting
Great tutorial. My kids love Mickey!
