The iconic ears, cheerful silhouette, vibrant primary colors and timeless character bring instant recognition—and invite big smiles from kids and grown-ups alike. At Mimi’s Dollhouse we believe every party should feel intentional, fun and full of personality, and a Mickey Clubhouse themed celebration delivers that beautifully. Whether you’re planning a toddler’s first birthday or a fun preschool gathering, a Mickey birthday gives you the perfect foundation for designing a festive, kid-friendly environment that looks great and runs smoothly.

From the moment your little guest of honor walks in and spots those Mickey ears, balloon clusters in red, yellow and black, themed snacks, and bold backdrop décor, the energy shifts into celebration mode. And the best part? These details don’t have to break your budget or require endless hours. You’ll read about how simple touches—like edible mouse-ear cookies, themed popcorn boxes, treat tags, coordinating plates, and a wow dessert table—can tie your theme together for a cohesive look from start to finish. And you’ll also find tips for keeping the set-up manageable, the styling kid-friendly and the atmosphere joyful.
Whether you’re a seasoned party-planner or a busy parent pulling it all together last minute, the goal is the same: a celebration that looks great, feels fun and gives your child a special day they’ll remember. So my “big girl” turned two in June… I racked my brain for just the right party theme for her. Should it be girly? Traditional like ballerina or princess? I’m sitting at my kitchen table making a ridiculously long list of party ideas all the while bobbing my head to the same two lines from a song “M-I-C-K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E…M-I-C-K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E…M-I-C-K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E”.
It took me a little longer than it should to process that my daughter had managed to reach the tv remote I had laid out of reach for someone whose legs had not just shot up about an inch and was pressing the DVR skip back button repeatedly.
After jumping up and rescuing the poor remote, it hit me…the one thing Aubrey loves more than anything…Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!! Much to the dread of my husband and myself, she will watch the same episode of MMC, OVER and OVER and OVER.
So without further ado…Aubrey’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Party.
I made basically everything you see in this party by hand. From the cake all the way down to the treat bags. This was partially to prove to myself that I could and partially because I am a bit of a control freak… I have always been good with paper crafts, but baking a cake and doing fondant was a new venture for me…
Since Minnie mouse is her favorite I decided to go a Minnie Mouse Cake surrounded by mickey, Minnie, goofy, and Donald cupcakes…
The cupcakes were a big hit!!! I made pineapple carrot cake with white frosting for Donald and brown colored vanilla frosting for Goofy and chocolate with chocolate frosting for Mickey and Minnie…
I found awesome Mickey shaped bowls and hand plates at Target. Target always has such awesome random dishware!!!
I made the food with Mickey shapes and used food from the show. We ate hot dogs (a MMC staple), we had healthy (and a few unhealthy) snacks, we even had mickey shaped rolls!!!
To drink, we had…Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy, of course!!! Watch later this week for this recipe (its Easy Peasy to make!!!)
I used the character designs to make drink tags so cups didn’t get mixed up…
Of course the party wouldn’t be complete without EARS…I made party hats for each character (Mickey Mouse Party Hat Tutorial)
Even the dog got in on the fun!!!
I made Mickey Mouse Favor bags for all her guests filled with bubbles and stickers and yummy Mickey treats…
She had such a great 2nd Birthday party…I love watching 2 yr olds interact with each other too. They are so funny at that age….See you REAL SOON!!!

Mickey Mouse Partyware
One of the smartest and most effective ways to elevate your Mickey Mouse birthday celebration is through the consistent use of themed partyware throughout. When your plates, cups, napkins, utensils, treat boxes and décor supplies follow the same design language, you instantly create a sense of cohesion and polish across every part of your event. The easiest way to serve all the glorious party treats you make and buy is with some themed party ware. This is budget friendly and keeps the design flowing through every part of your party. Definitely a must buy!!!
Choosing coordinated tableware means you don’t have to scramble to match mismatched items or worry about décor pieces clashing with your theme. Instead, you pick partyware items that carry your color palette and Mickey motifs—perhaps red and yellow plates with black accents, cups with mouse-ear silhouettes, napkins with polka-dots—and your supplies become a design pillar. This consistency helps your treats pop, your dessert table look styled and your guests feel immersed in the theme. For a Mickey Mouse birthday, where motifs like mouse ears, polka-dots and bold colors play a big role, themed partyware acts as the anchor that holds everything together.
Additionally, themed tableware is one of the most cost-effective décor upgrades you can make. Rather than investing in expensive rentals or custom pieces, you can create a beautifully curated look using high-quality partyware that aligns with your theme. These items are often disposable or easy to clean up, making your setup and teardown smoother. For a character-themed event especially, themed tableware helps your party look professionally styled, while still allowing you to spend your time enjoying the celebration rather than managing details. Investing in the right tableware means your Mickey Mouse birthday will feel polished, cohesive and design-forward—without requiring a design degree.

Conclusion for DIY Mickey Mouse party
Designing a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party is a joyful journey—one that blends timeless character charm, bold colors, fun treats and memorable moments into a celebration your child will love. At Mimi’s Dollhouse we know how meaningful these birthdays are. They aren’t just parties—they’re growing-up moments, photo opportunities, time capsules of joy and connection. When you choose Mickey as the foundation for your design, you tap into an icon, a feel-good character, and a palette that’s instantly recognizable and versatile. Whether you stick with the classic red, yellow and black scheme or infuse a modern twist with metallics or pastels, the principles remain the same: cohesion, accessibility and personality.
Start by defining your palette early, and keep it simple. Red, yellow, black and white become your guiding colors, and everything else falls into place—balloons, tablecloths, dessert stands, backdrop banners, treat boxes. Next, incorporate the Mickey motifs: mouse ears on cookies, silhouette centerpieces, polka-dot liners, customizable tags. These little visuals are what turn a birthday into a themed celebration. But the magic is also in how you present it.
A dessert table styled with height, color coordination, eye-catching pieces (like edible ear cookies or polka-dot donuts in red boxes) invites guests to linger, to smile, to take photos. The right tableware elevates your treats—themed plates and napkins make store-bought items look tailor-made, supplies become décor, and your cleanup becomes easier.
Think of the experience from beginning to end: the entrance, the welcome moment, the photo station, the snack table, the activity corner, the cake reveal, the favor send-off. When all these stations carry the same visual language and your Mickey theme is reinforced through color, motif and styling, your party feels immersive and seamless. Your guests don’t just observe the theme—they live inside it for the day. The birthday child walks into a space that reflects them, sees treats arranged with care, hears laughter, picks their mouse ear headband and feels special. That feeling is the heart of the celebration.
Don’t be intimidated by detail; instead let thoughtful choices guide you. A few high-impact elements—like themed tableware, custom tags, bold backdrop and signature dessert pieces—go a long way. You don’t need expensive props or countless hours of crafting. You simply need supplies that carry your motif, décor that supports your palette, and treat presentation that aligns with your theme. With those pieces in place, your Mickey Mouse birthday will feel polished, joyful and memorable.
Remember, this is also a chance to create keepsakes and memories. Mouse ear headbands might become dress-up props, themed napkins will show up in photos, the dessert table backdrop becomes that picture you pin and revisit. Long after the cake is eaten, you’ll see those moments in your camera roll and your heart.
So if you’re planning this Mickey day, gather your supplies, choose your palette, pick your favorite motifs and get ready to give your little one the celebration she deserves. With thoughtful styling, themed tableware, playful treats and heartfelt moments, your Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday will be a hit. Here’s to big smiles, high fives and a day full of joy. I just ordered your Mickey Mouse party pack for my sons 2nd birthday party in only one month!!!! : ) Let the planning begin!
What are the creations in the terra cotta pots? I am guessing it is big marshmallows but I love the pots and HAVE to find something to make to put in them!
Thank you for the great inspiration!
Thank you so much!!! The pots hold chocolate dipped marshmallows and strawberries. I dipped the marshmallows in red candy melts and then brown candy melts so they would look like Mickey. It was easy…but a little messy:)
WOW! Love it all! I found you on pintrest and just stumbled upon your web site. Do you have templates for the other hats, the cupcakes, and banner? Did you use card stock for the cupcake decoration? Can you share info about how to make that perfect cake too? My Amelia will be five next month. She loves the entire Mickey gang, so your party is perfect for her! Thank you!
Thanks Jennifer:) The template for all four hat designs is found here: https://www.mimisdollhouse.com/tutorial-mickey-mouse-clubhouse-party-hats/
I used cardstock and ribbon to make the cupcake toppers. I don’t have templates for the toppers and banner, but I do sell decorations inspired by this party: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MimisDollhouse/search?search_query=mickey+mouse&search_submit=&search_type=user_shop_ttt_id_6299694&shopname=MimisDollhouse
I made the cake using pink, white and brown fondant. I covered the cake with brown fondant and then added a pink stripe and polka dot pieces. The topper was made with cardstock and ribbon like the cupcake toppers.

this is such a cute party! i love doing everything by yourself and steering clear of the traditional birthday in a bag stuff! My son wants a mickey mouse clubhouse party for his 3rd birthday and i have searched the world for the mickey dishware that target carried last year. is there any way you would be willing to sell it to us? thanks so much!
Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, I don’t have them available for sale. Good luck tracking them down…I would check sites like ebay periodically to see if they are put up for sale. Other than that…I don’t know where else you would be able to find them now:(
Thank you so much!
I love the sign you designed for the party. I am in the process of putting the finishing touches on my son’s birthday party for this weekend. Is the template for the sign you did available for purchase or download?
