Toy Story Chocolate Covered Oreos Tutorial: STEP by STEP
Alright…let’s get to creating these fun little treats. Be sure to leave yourself enough time to let them chill in the refrigerator between steps. Making them the day before should be plenty of time!
To make these adorable little Chocolate Covered Oreos…you will need a few materials.
Materials:
- Oreo Mold (use this mold for Oreo Pops)
- Colored Candy melts (red, blue, yellow, green)
- Yellow fondant
- Yellow gel icing
- Red gel icing
- Oreos
- Candy eyes
- Black gel icing
- Black Edible Marker
Aliens:
Melt green candy melts. (I recommend microwaving the melts in 30 second increments and stirring in between each 30 seconds until melted. If you microwave too long the chocolate can start to change consistency and then won’t work as well.)
Fill Oreo mold about ⅔ full with melted candy. Place in Oreo, cover the back of the Oreo with additional melted candy. Place in the refrigerator to harden the candy for at least 10 minutes.
Pop out the Oreos onto a plate. Using leftover green melted candy as “glue”, attach three candy eyes to the front of the Oreo. Make a small black circle with the black gel frosting for the “ooooh” mouth! Easy peasy!!
Woody and Jesse:
Melt yellow, blue and red candy melts.
You can also add more than one color if you would like the top of the Oreo to be yellow and the bottom to be red.
Place in the refrigerator to harden the candy for at least 10 minutes. Pop out the Oreos onto a plate.
For the Woody “Sheriff” Oreos…cut a star out of yellow fondant (I used this fondant cutter). Let the fondant harden. Once it is hard, use the edible marker to write “sheriff” on the star.
Attach the star to the top of the red and blue Oreos with a dot of yellow gel icing. Then add the dots to the star tips with the yellow icing. Keep cool until ready to serve!
For the Rowdy and Jesse “shirt” Oreos, use the red gel icing to make a plaid shirt design (criss cross lines) and an embroidered shirt design (loopy line) on the yellow Oreos. Also, keep these cool until ready to serve.
I can usually make 8-10 Oreos per bag of candy melts. Easy peasy!!
