☑️ This Toy Story Party Kit is the perfect set to get your party planning headed in the right direction!

Whether you’re making decorated sugar cookies, simple character-inspired treats, or fun DIY Toy Story Oreos, themed cookies are always a hit. Kids love being able to point out their favorite characters—Woody, Buzz, the Aliens, Jessie, Forky—and cookies are the perfect bite-sized treat for your dessert table. They’re easy to serve, great for photos, and an adorable option for party favors.

The BEST part about Toy Story cookies is how flexible they are. You don’t need to be a professional baker to create something magical. A few candy melts, sprinkles, and themed colors can turn a basic Oreo into a showstopping treat. Want something more advanced? Character sugar cookies or detailed royal-icing designs are absolutely stunning on dessert tables. But if you’re all about quick, cute, and practical, these Toy Story Oreo cookies are a total win.

Toy Story desserts also pair beautifully with other themed food ideas—like Alien cupcakes, Woody’s Round-Up snacks, Buzz Lightyear treats, or cloud-themed cookies. Thanks to the joyful color palette and playful character designs, anything you create feels fun and cohesive.

Whether you’re hosting a small backyard celebration or creating a full-blown character-themed dessert display, Toy Story cookies give your party that extra touch of whimsy. And in this guide, we’re exploring fun ways to decorate Oreos, how to use cookies in your party design, additional dessert ideas, and everything you need to make your Toy Story celebration delicious and unforgettable.

How to use Toy Story Cookies

Toy Story cookies are incredibly versatile, which makes them one of the BEST dessert choices for this theme. You can incorporate them into your party in so many fun and creative ways. Start with your dessert table—they add bright color, character, and visual interest. Place them on tiered stands, colorful trays, or scatter them between cupcakes and candy jars for an instant pop of themed charm.

These cookies also make fantastic party favors. Package a few in clear bags with themed tags for an adorable take-home treat. They photograph beautifully, making them a great addition to any styled setup or photo backdrop.

Another clever way to use Toy Story cookies is on your food tables—mix them in with savory snacks or alongside kid-friendly treats. They’re also perfect for character-specific stations (“Alien Treats,” “Woody’s Sweets,” etc.). No matter how you display them, these cookies help bring your Toy Story theme to life in the sweetest way.

Custom cookies are one of my favorite treats for a party.  I love the little extra detail that themed decorated cookies can give to your dessert table.  They also make killer party favors!!!  Stick them in a cellophane bag with an adorable Toy Story favor tag.

Ideas for a Toy Story party

A Toy Story party is one of the most creative and flexible themes you can choose. You can pull inspiration from Andy’s room, lean into Woody’s rootin’-tootin’ cowboy style, create a Buzz-worthy space-ranger adventure, or mix in carnival-inspired details from Toy Story 4. Bright primary colors keep everything feeling bold and playful, while cow print and galaxy accents help you personalize your setup.

Kids LOVE character-inspired decorations—balloons, cutouts, themed tableware, and colorful dessert tables. Add games like “Pin the Tail on Bullseye,” “Alien Ring Toss,” or “Blast Off Training Course,” and you’ve got a themed event that feels immersive and exciting. Dessert tables, craft stations (like DIY Forky), and dress-up accessories also help bring the theme to life.

With so many beloved characters and scenes to choose from, your Toy Story party can be as simple or elaborate as you want. And your cookies—Toy Story Oreos included!—fit right into any version of the theme.

Toy Story Chocolate Covered Oreos Tutorial: STEP by STEP

Alright…let’s get to creating these fun little treats.  Be sure to leave yourself enough time to let them chill in the refrigerator between steps.  Making them the day before should be plenty of time!

To make these adorable little Chocolate Covered Oreos…you will need a few materials.

Materials:

Aliens:

Melt green candy melts.  (I recommend microwaving the melts in 30 second increments and stirring in between each 30 seconds until melted.  If you microwave too long the chocolate can start to change consistency and then won’t work as well.)

Fill Oreo mold about ⅔ full with melted candy.  Place in Oreo, cover the back of the Oreo with additional melted candy.  Place in the refrigerator to harden the candy for at least 10 minutes.

Pop out the Oreos onto a plate.  Using leftover green melted candy as “glue”, attach three candy eyes to the front of the Oreo.  Make a small black circle with the black gel frosting for the “ooooh” mouth! Easy peasy!!

Woody and Jesse:

Melt yellow, blue and red candy melts.

You can also add more than one color if you would like the top of the Oreo to be yellow and the bottom to be red.

Place in the refrigerator to harden the candy for at least 10 minutes. Pop out the Oreos onto a plate.

For the Woody “Sheriff” Oreos…cut a star out of yellow fondant (I used this fondant cutter).  Let the fondant harden.  Once it is hard, use the edible marker to write “sheriff” on the star.

Attach the star to the top of the red and blue Oreos with a dot of yellow gel icing.  Then add the dots to the star tips with the yellow icing. Keep cool until ready to serve!

For the Rowdy and Jesse “shirt” Oreos, use the red gel icing to make a plaid shirt design (criss cross lines) and an embroidered shirt design (loopy line) on the yellow Oreos.  Also, keep these cool until ready to serve.

I can usually make 8-10 Oreos per bag of candy melts.  Easy peasy!!

Coordinating Toy Story Party Supplies

One of the easiest ways to elevate your Toy Story dessert table—without spending a ton of time or money—is by using themed party ware. I love this trick because it instantly transforms even the simplest snacks into a cohesive, professional-looking display. Your plates, napkins, cups, and treat stands become part of the décor and help carry your theme across the entire party.

For Toy Story, themed tableware options are absolutely adorable. You can use Woody-inspired yellow plates, Buzz Lightyear purple-and-green napkins, cow-print details for Jessie, or bright blue accents to match Andy’s iconic room. Even if your desserts are simple Oreos dipped in candy melts, the presentation feels elevated when placed on a themed tray or colorful plate.

Themed party ware also ties everything together—your dessert table, your snack station, your drink area, and even your favor display. Kids love seeing their favorite characters everywhere, and parents appreciate how pulled-together everything looks. Budget-friendly options make it easy to stretch your decorating dollars without sacrificing style.

With themed tableware doing so much of the visual work for you, even the simplest homemade treats (like these Toy Story Oreos!) look amazing. It’s the perfect shortcut to a beautiful, cohesive party that feels thoughtful, fun, and photo-ready. Definitely a must-buy for any Toy Story celebration!
