It’s Turkey Time, It’s Turkey Time!  I love Thanksgiving….but sometimes I feel like it gets overshadowed by the early Christmas buzz!  Even before Halloween was over, stores where moving out the jack-o-lanterns and moving in the pine trees.  I am determined to spend November feeling Thankful and thinking about fall and turkeys.  Are you with me?

In honor of Turkeys…I have made some super simple Thanksgiving Turkey Treats.  They are easy to bake.  My 9 year old made all of these desserts herself (with a little mommy oversight) and had a blast creating little Thanksgiving turkeys to share with her friends.  They are perfect for classroom treats or whipping up for Thanksgiving dinner.

I hope you enjoy them all!!

Thanksgiving Turkey Treats: Turkey Rice Krispies Pops

Materials

Step 1:

Melt the chocolate candy melts.  Using a glass bowl in the microwave in 30-second increments is best.  Be sure to stir in between heating and be careful not to overheat.  Dip the Rice Krispies treats in the green candy and lay them out on parchment paper to cool.  After I covered the treats, I used the back of a spoon to put a little texture in the candy…just for some character!!!

Step 2:

While the candy is cooling, place candy eyes on the front and a Reese’s Pieces piece for the beak..  Allow the candy to cool completely.  Split the Oreos in half, dip the halved Oreo in the chocolate and place candy corn in a fan pattern on the Oreo.  Press the back of the Rice Krispies treat into the chocolate on the Oreo and allow to cool.  Easy peasy.
