Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350º.  Beat white cake mix, cream cheese, egg, vanilla, and softened butter until well mixed, but not smooth.  Separate dough into small bowls (1 for each color cookie you want to make).

Mix food coloring with cookie dough in bowls.  Chill in the fridge for 20 mins.

Step 2:

Roll dough into small balls.  To make uniformly sized monster cookies, roll each cookie into a 1″ ball.  To make varying size monster cookies, roll into 1/2″ to 2″ balls.  Roll balls in powdered sugar and press onto the parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake 10-13 mins.

Step 3:

Remove cookies from the oven.  Press candy eyes into cookies while they are still warm.  Allow cookies to cool.  Monster cookies are ready to party!

DIY Monster Bark Tutorial

Materials

Step 1:

Melt candy melts in separate microwave-safe containers.  Pour candy onto parchment lined cookie sheet.  Smooth out candy with the back of a spoon until you reach the desired thickness.

For monster bark, I like the levels to be uneven and messy.  This helps the overall monster feel of the bark. Once candy melts are arranged.  Press in various candy eyes.

Step 2:

Place in fridge to cool and set for 2o mins.  using a knife, cut bark into jagged pieces.  Place monster bark back into the fridge until ready to serve.  So easy and soooo cute!!
