Frankenstein Rice Krispies Treats Tutorial

Materials

Step 1:

Melt the green candy melts.  Using a glass bowl in the microwave in 30-second increments is best.  Be sure to stir in between heating and be careful not to overheat.  Dip the Rice Krispies treats in the green candy and lay them out on parchment paper to cool.

After I covered the treats, I used the back of a spoon to put a little texture in the candy…just for some character!!!

Step 2:

While the candy is cooling, place candy eyes on the front and tootsie roll “bolts” on the sides.  I cut the fun-sized tootsie rolls into thirds for this and they were perfect.  Allow the candy to cool completely.

Step 3:

Once the candy is completely cooled, press a paper straw into the bottom (if you would like them to be on sticks).  Melt the black candy melts.

Dip the top of the Frankenstein head into the black candy.  Sprinkle with black sprinkles.  Place some of the melted black candy into a squeeze bottle and carefully use it to draw on a Frankenstein mouth!

Allow to cool completely and they are ready to be enjoyed!!

Frankenstein Oreos Tutorial

Materials

Step 1:

Melt the green candy melts.  Using a glass bowl in the microwave in 30-second increments is best.  Be sure to stir in between heating and be careful not to overheat.

Fill the Oreo mold with the melted green candy.  Open an Oreo and gently place a paper straw into the Oreo.  I recommend cutting the straws in half to use.  P

lace the Oreo and straw into the mold and cover the back of the Oreo with the melted candy.  Place in the refrigerator to cool…at least 15 minutes.

Step 2:

Once the Oreos are cooled, pop them out of the mold.  Using the green candy melts as glue, attach the candy eyes to the front and tootsie roll “bolts” to the sides.

I cut the fun-sized tootsie rolls into quarters for this and they were perfect.  Allow the candy to cool completely.

Step 3:

Melt the black candy melts.  Dip the top of the Frankenstein’s head into the black candy.  Sprinkle with black sprinkles.   Using an edible marker, draw on the Frankenstein’s mouth.

I made a zig-zag line and drew a line through it to look like a sewn on mouth.  Allow to cool completely and they are ready to go!!

Frankenstein Cookies

Finish out your Franken-party with some simple cookie love! Frankenstein cookies, anyone?  Here is the tutorial…

Franken-Cookie Tutorial

Materials

Step 1:

Prepare Sugar Cookie dough according to recipe or sugar cookie mix instructions.  Roll dough until it is 1/4 inch thick. Using the circle cookie cutters, cut out the cookies.

Place the cookies on a lined cookie sheet and bake according to the recipe.  Remove from oven and allow to cool before decorating.

Step 2:

Roll out the green fondant to about 1/4 inch thick.  Cut using the circle cookie cutters.  Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes to stiffen slightly. Place on top of the cookies.

I used a little bit of frosting to help the fondant stick, but if the underneath side of the fondant is still soft, it will stick with a few drops of water.

Step 3:

Cut tootsie rolls into 1/8th pieces and roll between fingers to create small “bolts”.  Using a drop of water, attach the eyes and bolts onto the fondant.

Step 4:

Melt the black candy melts.  Dip the top of the cookie into the candy and sprinkle with sprinkles.  Allow to cool and set and they are ready to enjoy!!
